In order to cater to all the different facility types that might be using this treatment, figuring out different use cases is a main challenge, follow by how will each different types of user received certain notification or clearance on things they can do or assign, also when itβs managing by multiple admins how to ensure ease of use and record each log to display for whoever takes over for the next.
Following discussions with the lead designer, a strategy was devised to address diverse use cases by implementing stringent security measures. This involved establishing a streamlined process for authenticating new personnel added as admins, enabling extensive customization options for user-defined clearances and task assignments. This approach empowers users to tailor their settings, minimizing external dependencies for issue resolution.
Contributing to the admin portal's key functionalities, I built upon existing research and conducted competitor analyses, drawing insights from platforms like Salesforce (leveraging personal experience), Postmates (examining tutorial pages), and Jira (analyzing user interviews).
After conducting research, the UI design phase focused on the primary functions requested by the client for the admin web page, which mainly centered on managing doctors and patients. Information input precedes their signup, and the process is pre-populated to enable users to confirm rather than input data. In managing doctors and patients, the account status can only be deactivated, not deleted, ensuring that all information remains accessible when required, preserving comprehensive records.
To meet users' needs, the admin page facilitates the customization of the portal to align with various hospital preferences. Multiple admins, typically nursing staff, can tailor the platform to their facility's unique requirements. This includes adapting treatment names and staff titles, ensuring seamless operations while maintaining clarity. The high level of customization empowers users to optimize the web portal for improved patient care.
